Large Aotea Toki Pendant “Ascension”

The Toki measures 137mm and is set on a plaited cord measuring 60cm.

Aotea is found only in South Westland, NZ, it comprises of Fuchsite, Kyanite and Quartz, and energetically it carries the essence of the devine feminine energy.

Comprised of an extremely rare mixture of Kyanite (blue), Fuchsite (Green) and Quartz (white), along with a small amount of other associate minerals. Aotea generally originates from a small valley in South Westland, NZ. Aotea is a highly altered Kyanite Schist which has undergone a large metamorphic change, suggesting deep burial in a localised area on the alpine fault. Spiritually it is a very feminine stone, as it helps heal the goddess aspect within the individual.

Created from an Aotea piece with a high Kyanite content, while the Quartz content acts as an amplifier.  Kyanite doesn’t require Cleansing, though this piece will always enjoy an occasional bath in fresh or salt water, moonlight, mountaintop or where ever feels right.

The Toki represents Strength, Determination and Authority.

Artist comment - I really enjoyed creating this piece, however when i finished the toki it felt like something was missing until i envisioned the inset discs into the toki representing the energy of Ascension. The discs from the top down are - Aotea, Serpentinite, Aotea, Rhodonite and Quartz.

Please note - When worn and body oils soak into Aotea, the minerals can undergo a deep colour transformation, they can change to a very rich green or blue, and can have a beautiful and ethereal translucency to it. This only enhances the beauty of the gemstone.
